Web creation Mauritius – 5 steps to be online

Your internet presence is your business card on the internet and should make an impression. Here are the key steps to creating a website.

Okay so you feel your company needs a fresh new website for this year 2019. At Web, we strive to give our customers the best tips and insights before even signing any contract. This information is provided for free. And, free does not mean cheap or unimportant here. We’ve taken our 20+ years of experience and created this article to help you better create your next website.

In the beginning, the creation of a website, especially in Mauritius, can be intimidating. Add to that the number of questions that pop up in your mind when designing the idea of a website which will represent your professionalism on the web. These questions can be, how many menu items do I need. Which languages do I make my website available? What can I sell on the website? Is there even a demand on the internet?

If you do not have a proper concept for the site, you can quickly lose track of how to create the site, and in the worst case, the site becomes an impenetrable labyrinth for the reader. To prevent this from happening with your website, we have put together some most important steps in creating and maintaining a website for you.

1.      Why do you even need a website?

Almost everyone today has a website to showcase a facility or products. Nevertheless, you should ask yourself why you want a website. You should never create a website “just like that” or “just fast”. Your website is your figurehead on the web, where visitors can find out about your offer. So, you should consider before creating your website: Why a website at all? What do you want to achieve with it? How should your institution be perceived in public? Is your website for information purpose only or do you intent to sell your products on it, maybe later?

In most cases, the need will be justified, but sometimes, business owners don’t just realize it, they pay a lot of money for designing, creating, trashing, redesigning and recreating websites that they don’t even need. Know your purpose, it is not just because your competitor has a website, does it mean that you should have one. If you know exactly why you even need a website in the first place, we can help you and you are allowed to read point 2 below:

Web Design Mauritius – Be Responsive

The Internet has become an integral part of everyday life. Even on the move, more and more surfed with mobile phone and tablet. Therefore, it is enormously important that the homepage on all devices is clearly displayed and easy to use. Responsive web design is essential for a clean presentation, but also for search engine optimization.

The Importance of Responsive Web Design

“Responsive” translates from the English as “react”. Translated to the web design, one could say the design “responds” to the device on which it is displayed. When creating a homepage in Responsive Web Design, it specifies how the page is displayed on different screen sizes. On the monitor with at least 1024-pixel resolution, the user sees a classically constructed website, usually with a few columns next to each other.

If the same page is called up with the tablet, which has significantly less width, the columns adjust themselves so that a clean picture develops. Even further, the content of the page must adapt when it is opened with the smartphone. In this case, the page recognizes the resolution and usually has no more columns, but sorts the content among themselves.

Digital Marketing Mauritius: Strategies 2018

Mobile influences marketing strategies

Adissa Akanni (Verisure, Securitas Direct) insists on the victory of the mobile against the desktop. “The” Mobile Moment “remains one of the highlights of the last few months. This inversion in the relationship between mobile and computer will further accentuate the development of AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) formats. This global trend, highlighted in the 2017 Consumer Barometer, influences all marketing strategies. The contents offered on the sites and platforms adapt, companies must design customer experiences taking into account the properties of smartphones.

The decline of natural reach on social networks

Social networks will not die in 2018, but their role is changing little by little. Like many professionals in the sector, Diana Fellous (dermatological laboratories of Uriage), noticed the decline of the natural reach on Facebook. The social network state considered by the brands as “a real playground since 2008-2009” but “it is positioned more and more like a media, and therefore to be visible it is necessary to pay. You have to be there, but you have to have a media budget to give visibility to the content. ” Patrycja Mothon (Pandora) joins her and appreciates the effectiveness of dynamic advertising on Facebook (DPA, Dynamic Product Ads).

For Elodie Ragot (Xylem), the role of social media in terms of targets should be separated to formulate effective strategies. “The big digital trends are centered around social media in a role of lead generation for B2B and increased sales for B2C”.

On social media trends, we advise you to read this excellent analysis, published by Buffer earlier this week. We note that social networks (in their organic form) are becoming less and less like traffic acquisition channels.

How to write good content for your website?

To be more precise, your content must be relevant, digestible, interesting and memorable, identifiable by the search engines. And they must be kept up to date. And if your content is good, why reserve your talent to your website?

Relevant and digestible

When you write a text, strive to think like your readers. Address your visitors, your customers. Use specific terms. Go straight to the point in your texts and descriptions. What works best is necessarily short. Avoid any entrepreneurial jargon, talk like your customers would. Otherwise, they may never come to your site. And if they succeed in falling on them, they will not understand much of it, and will go to other heavens.

People do not read websites, they scan the screen until something catches their attention. If there is too much text to inspect, or if they do not find anything they expected, they move on to something else. Split your texts. Make short sentences and small paragraphs.

Choose your titles carefully. Do not say too much, or too little, it is the rule. And give care to the language you use, it’s important: If your site is for children, say “How to make paper flowers”, if it is addressed to specialists say: “Model for Origami: Pink “.

Use illustrations. A picture is worth a thousand words. If possible, replace some paragraphs with a photo or video.

What is Search Engine Optimization?

Basically, Search Engine Optimization or simply SEO is all about helping websites rank higher on the organic (or “natural) search results of search engines.

The higher the site ranks, the more visitors and hence the more customers you will get!

Search Engine optimization is the art of building a website in such a way so as to please both the customer and the search engine.

10 Top Social Media Sites

Here is fresh top 10 social networking sites’ market share data in US. It has some interesting changes.

Moving up

Youtube has jumped to its highest level ever. Seems that people are watching more and more clips and that brings the video site to 24.15 percent market share of visits. LinkedIn is another site that has reached its highest market share of visits. I

t has grown from low 0.63% in December 2012 to a record high 0.89 percent last month. LinkedIn moved to 6th position in the top 10 overtaking Google+. April and May are the active business months that may help the business social network to grow its market share even more.

Tumblr is also at its highest market share of visits, reaching 0.42 percent in March 2013.

Moving down

Facebook has fallen to its lowest market share of visits in almost 3 years. Facebook continues to be the dominant social networking site but the loss of 3% of market share means 100 million visits.

Twitter is down, too. It has fallen to 1.72 percent of market share of visits. This is the lowest number in 12 months and the trend-line seems to point down.

Pinterest is slightly down. It has moved from 1.17% in February to 1.14% in March. Although a down this level seems to be stable for the pinning site. It is hard to say what’s behind the declining numbers if the leading social networking sites.

My guess is that one factor that brins down the numbers is the fact that usage through mobile apps is not tracked. The other factor may be that the market is saturated and people are less active when using these sites. This does not mean that they stop using social networking sites but there’s less “excitement” that translates to less frequent usage.

Instagram is back in top 10. Yahoo Answers continues to inch up. Google+ is moving sideways.
